Country Club Turf has been providing residential and commercial mowing service to the Columbia area for nearly 15 years. From day one we have placed an emphasis on quality over quantity when it comes to our mowing clientele. This means taking the time to do the job right, using high end equipment and double checking to make sure that the job meets our high standards before we drive away from a lawn.

It is important to understand that whether you are mowing your own lawn, or hire a mowing company to do it for you, mowing practices play a major role in the health and aesthetics of your lawn. You can use the best fertilizer and weed control products and techniques available, but without proper mowing habits your lawn will never reach its potential.

Some of the keys to maintaining a quality cut

• Mowing frequency, we do our best to maintain a weekly mowing interval during the growing season. Ideally you should never cut off more than one third of the plant tissue. Removing too much not only looks bad, but it can send the plant into shock and impede root growth.

• Mowing height, most lawns here in Columbia are predominately a turf type fescue blend which should be maintained at 3-4 inches for optimal health.

• Properly maintained equipment, whether you are using the newest commercial grade mower, or a small push mower it is important to always maintain sharp, strait, balanced blades. Dull blades will give a ragged cut and make turf more susceptible to disease.
